Property Tax Assessment Register Extract

An application for an extract (copy) of the entry for your property in the Gram Panchayat's property tax assessment register.

What it is

The Gram Panchayat keeps the tax assessment of the houses, shops and other buildings in the village in a register. This extract is the official copy of the entry for your property. It usually shows the property number, the holder's name as recorded, a description of the property and the tax assessment.

What it is used for

  • To check house-tax, water-tax and dues details
  • As a reference when applying to change the name on the house-tax record or to correct an entry
  • Some offices and banks ask for the tax assessment details of a property; ask them whether this extract is accepted

Documents usually needed (guidance)

Please confirm the final list of documents at your Gram Panchayat office. This list is general guidance, not an official list of legal conditions.

  • A written application
  • Property number or house number (if known)
  • A copy of a previous house-tax receipt (if available)
  • A copy of the applicant's identity card (if the office asks for it)

How to apply

  1. Keep your property number and the name on the record ready.
  2. Submit a written application at the Gram Panchayat office, or prepare a Marathi application with the ‘Prepare an application’ tool on the website and print it.
  3. Pay the fee, if any, against an official receipt.
  4. After submitting, take an acknowledgement or inward number and keep a copy of the application.
  5. When you receive the extract, check the name, property number and tax amount. If something is wrong, give a written application for correction.

Where to apply

Gram Panchayat office (Gramsevak / Gram Panchayat Officer)

Fee and time

Any fee is fixed by the Government or by law and is taken against an official receipt. No amount or time limit is stated here. If the service is notified, confirm its time limit on the Aaple Sarkar portal or at the Gram Panchayat office.

Please note

A Gram Panchayat house-tax or assessment entry is not final proof of ownership. Ownership is shown by the sale deed, the mutation entry and revenue records (for example the 7/12 extract or property card), which are separate documents issued by the revenue department or the relevant authority.
